This is our motivation, and this is why we need your help!

In Hillsborough County...

  • According to the United States Humane Society here are about 92,000 feral cats in Hillsborough County.
  • A single female cat can have up to 36 kittens per year which creates a major problem for the Tampa Bay Area.
  • 20,000 feral cats were euthanized in one year, and as the feral cat population increases, so does the amount of euthanizations.
  • Because cats are not native to Florida, they hurt some of our natural wildlife when they hunt, such as birds.
  • When they roam freely, they are easily susceptible to different diseases, predators, and getting run over by cars.
  • In just our county, over 30,000 animals are "put to sleep" each year.

In the United States...

  • 2,000 dogs and 3,500 cats are born every hour in the US compared to only 415 human babies.
  • One unsprayed female cat, her mate, and all their offspring, producing only two litters per year, with 2.8 surviving kittens per litter can produce 370,092 cats in just 7 years.
  • Millions of animals are slaughtered each year. This is more than 85,000 tons of death which equals the weight of both the Titanic and her sister ship.
  • Annual cost of disposing of the dead bodies is 600 million dollars, enough to send 120,000 students to college for 4 years.
  • U.S taxpayers pay an estimated 2 Billion Dollars every year to round up, house, kill, and than dispose of the animals body.

These are the Sad Facts.
